![]() While Respawn's struggles to gain control of hackers and cheaters have been well documented, it isn't the only company facing this problem. While the administrator of Remnant Fleet claims the groups' comments surrounding hacks on Apex Legends were taken out of context, it might be hard to convince gamers that the Discord posts weren't part of a plan to bring down the battle royale. ![]() All of these stunts done by the hacker group seems to have been in an attempt to gain the admiration of the Apex Legends and Titanfall communities and get Respawn to notice and subsequently hire them to fix the issues they caused to happen. ![]() Ironically, the user's prescription to fix the game appears to be one for the very problems they created. Recently, Discord messages sent between the users p0358, RedShield, DogeCore, and Mr Steyk have been discovered that show the group's plan to "lockdown the servers for 48 hours" in Apex Legends. These messages related to the corresponding attack on the game that happened on July 4.īefore the news about Remnant Fleet's identity had been uncovered, the member known as p0358 had provided a supposedly simple fix to DDoS attacks in Titanfall. While some accused a person known as "Jeanue," supposedly the person responsible for hacks in the first Titanfall, it seems that a different group named "Remnant Fleet" was to blame. During this period, the hackers used their control over the game to advertise a website supposedly made to help save Titanfall. The issues escalated to such a height that at one point the hackers had even managed to make the battle royale unplayable for a short duration of time. While problems with hackers have been an issue for Respawn since at least 2018 with the original Titanfall, they have ramped up in recent months, impacting the company's more recent title Apex Legends. These attacks have rendered these games unplayable for much of their communities at times. While the developers seem to have gained control of the situation for now, it has been revealed what party was behind these attacks in the first place. Unfortunately, over the past few months Apex Legends along with the Titanfall series have come under numerous attacks from hackers. Releasing unexpectedly at the beginning of 2019 as a new spin on the battle royale genre, the game has since continued to grow by introducing a Ranked mode in Season 2 as well as an Arenas 3v3 mode in Season 9. Apex Legends is one of the most popular games on the market today.
